AutoGuide: Popular Kia Soul Maintains Irreverent Charm, Adds Turbo Power for 2017 Model Year

The new 2017 Kia Soul is a subcompact crossover that continues to march to its own beat with great results, concludes AutoGuide writer Craig Cole in a new review. The Soul's decidedly irreverent styling, spacious cabin and cargo hold and the latest infotainment technology come together to make the Soul a compelling choice for recent grads about to embark on life's next adventure.

Of particular note for 2017 is the addition of new turbo version of the Soul. It gets a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque and earns a very respectable EPA fuel economy rating of 26 mpg city and 31 mpg highway. With the rear seats folded, the Soul has room for 61 cubic feet of gear, and can still hold 24 cubic feet of cargo with the rear seats up.
